The third book in our campaign has been published: Valjancin Akudovich's “The Rustling of Silence.” Published by the North Macedonian publishing house Goten Publishing in collaboration with the Belarusian publishing house Halijafy, which was forcibly liquidated. It is no coincidence that Macedonian publisher Robert Alagjozovski (pictured) chose this book by one of Belarus' most important philosophers and essayists. Akudovich's themes are also relevant for North Macedonia: how to deal with the unexpected attainment of state sovereignty, how to make the country that “happened” your own space, how to locate yourself in a culture and in the world. The book comprises essays, poems, and aphorisms from different years, humorous and thoughtful, personal and universal. The book was published thanks to the support of the Goethe-Institut in exile and the Zurich-based Litar Foundation. A translation into Macedonian is being considered. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the publication of the book!
